SchoolHouse Partners Kitchen Renovation: Week 3/Puzzle Pieces

This week Keith and Russell of Maverick Construction have brought in all of the cabinet doors and cabinets that they built off site and are beginning to fit all of the "puzzle pieces" together. For the cabinets, a modern take on shaker style was selected.  Keith built several custom elements such as a garbage bin and recycling bin, a pull out pantry, and a pull out oil and spice rack, all of which were built to look like the cabinetry. The pantry was built in the area that originally housed the oven and microwave and the two new cabinets were built above the new gas range. Flip down drawers were placed in front of the sink to hold sponges and the refrigerator was framed to create the feel of a counter depth fridge without sacrificing space.  Above the fridge will be vertical storage for baking trays and platters. Keith also worked on reinforcements for an 18 inches overhang that was added to the island to create pull-up countertop to accommodate four chairs. Install should be completed by the end of the week and the painters will begin on Monday....stay tuned for the color selections and to learn more about SchoolHouse Partners' painters!
